Winterbottom, Colin
Colin Winterbottom is a Washington, DC based self-trained photographer. Selected museum and corporate collections include: Smithsonian Institute, National Museum of American History, Photographic History Collection; American Banking Association (DC), The Carlyle Group (Tokyo), The U.S. Embassy in (Hanoi, Vietnam), Mayor’s Office (DC). His work hangs in the Spy City Café in the Spy Museum (DC). Winterbottom won the Curator’s Choice Award, Photo ’08 Regional Juried Photo Show, curated by David Griffin, Director of Photography at National Geographic. In this body of work Winterbottom’s images are unexpected compositions of Washington, DC and New York City architecture and landscape. He photographs in bad weather, night lighting and sometimes uses infrared films to create a unique atmosphere.
