Grand, Freya

Freya Grand is a landscape painter from Washington, DC. She has her BS in Fine Art and MFA from The University of Wisconsin. Grand’s last solo show was at Gallery 211 in Baltimore, MD in 2007. She just finished a gorgeous and successful group show at the Arts Club of Washington in Washington, DC, “Imagining Ireland: Sky, Land and Sea” sponsored by the Irish Embassy. Grand was represented Gallery K before it closed and had a solo show there in 2003. She has been commissioned to create several large-scale murals in both corporate and private collections. Grand’s oils on canvas depicting the Ireland coast and landscape are powerful representations. She paints from memory and photographs. Grand successful transports the viewer to the location triggering all the senses with her imagery.
