Frank, Mary
A sculptor from Brinklow, Maryland. She has her MFA from the University of Maryland. Frank is trained in the true craft of sculpting. She is proficient in oxy acetylene welding, lost wax process of bronze casting and stone carving. She works with physically challenging materials such as stone, steel, bronze and wood. While her materials are strong and aggressive she does not loose her sense of humor or irony with the content and subject matter of her art. In her works — Teacup, Eight is Enough, Curving House, Umbilical and Spiky Ball Thing — it appears as if Brancusi met Alice in Wonderland. Frank has been exhibiting since 1983. Her work is in the corporate collections of the Ball Corporation, Grafco Corporation and Captive Plastics.
