Finkelstein, Amy

Amy Finkelstein photographs hover between abstraction and landscape. While they allude to terrain such as a desert or seascape, she is in fact capturing abstract patterns that she creates in her studio out of light, powder and silhouette. The resulting images are hauntingly powerful and allow the viewer to have their own interpretation of the image. Amy received her MFA from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, MA in 2005. She lives and works in Washington, DC.
